Middle-Eastern petrochem producers will always have a cost advantage globally

Ethylene gas crackers in North America have become prohibitively expensive due to tremendous increase in gas feedstock, shortages of contractors and equipment, coupled with increasing plant construction costs. This makes new projects and expansion of existing projects in the region economically unviable. Higher availability of ethane gas will help the Middle East region increase the capacity of polyethylene. They will become the low cost polyethylene producers in the world and will rule the markets of polyethylene, replacing USA's supremacy.
